Arc v2.9.0

A list of new features that have been introduced in this release.

• ENG-909: Smart Polling: Node points previously extracted by the hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) Schneider strategy are now extracted as node properties.
• ENG-960: The Node points checkbox has been updated into a more Asset information one. Also, the extraction of such information can now be controlled with more granularity.
• ENG-1189: Compatibility notice: Arc v2.6.0 introduced a compatibility safeguard for environments still connected to Guardian v25.1.0 and earlier. If Arc is connected to Guardian v25.1.0 and earlier, Arc v2.6.0 will continue to run, but it will no longer update to newer Arc versions. This change is intended to give customers time to upgrade Guardian before the end of the compatibility grace period. Starting with Arc v2.9.0, Arc will no longer connect to Guardian v25.1.0 and earlier. Action required: Upgrade Guardian to v25.2.0 or later before moving to Arc v2.9.0.
• ENG-1285: Smart Polling: The simple network management protocol (SNMP) strategy is now more robust when connecting to devices that do not export standard object identifier (OID)s, such as sysName.
• ENG-1736: All Arc alerts, except those generated by Arc/Embedded, now contain the list of users that were logged on the machine.
• ENG-1858: Arc now correctly recognizes Oracle Linux.
• ENG-2155: The Arc user interface (UI) now shows alerts generated by malware detection and the SIGMA rules engines.
• ENG-2386: Improved the Keep existing settings option of the Arc installer.
• ENG-2427: Improved Asset information software extraction in presence of specific entries which did previously not show the install date.
• ENG-2494: Improved the detection of the SCADAPack 474i to unlock the Arc Embedded features.
• ENG-2573: Improved Sigma rules detection capabilities in presence of ImagePath.

A list of the bugs and defects that have been addressed in this release.

• ENG-2112: Addressed an issue where Arc directly connected to Vantage monitored also the upstream connection communication.
• ENG-2313: Addressed an issue that caused network interfaces configuration to be continuously reloaded, implying Arc did not monitor continuously.
• ENG-2354: Addressed an issue that was preventing assets imported with Arc offline archives to display the associated node points.
• ENG-2543: Addressed an issue that was causing sp.log to be logged in Debug mode even if a different log level was set.
