Arc v2.6.0

A list of new features that have been introduced in this release.

• Arc-1231: You can now view a complete local asset representation in the Arc user interface (UI).
• Arc-1236: Optimized Arc binary footprint through internal code cleanup.
• ENG-766: Compatibility notice: Arc v2.6.0 introduces a compatibility safeguard for environments connected to Guardian v25.1.0 and earlier. If Arc is connected to Guardian v25.1.0 and earlier, Arc v2.6.0 continues to run but no longer updates to newer Arc versions. Starting with Arc v2.9.0, Arc will no longer connect to Guardian v25.1.0 and earlier. Upgrade Guardian to v25.2.0 or later before moving to Arc v2.9.0 (expected July 2026).
• ENG-898 Smart Polling:
  • The polling execution steps across all strategies have been streamlined and standardized. Some steps are now optional; if they fail, they are hidden and do not impact the overall execution result.
  • The Windows Remote Management (WinRM) Smart Polling strategy is now available in Arc.
  • The MELSOFT strategy now better identifies Product Names and Firmware versions for GOT devices.
  • Added a new Advantech EdgeLink strategy.
  • Introduced certificate validation capabilities for hypertext transfer protocol secure (HTTPS) strategies.
• ENG-898 Discovery:
  • Added a new Bernecker & Rainer strategy.
  • Addressed an issue where address resolution protocol (ARP) scan tasks attempted to send packets with empty media access control (MAC) addresses, reducing unnecessary debug logs.
  • Improved the server message block (SMB) Discovery scan to optimize address handling, ensuring more efficient and streamlined scanning performance.
  • Added a new Advantech EdgeLink strategy.
• ENG-1095: Improved support archive generation message in case of failure.

A list of the bugs and defects that have been addressed in this release.

• ENG-462: Addressed a race condition affecting network initialization that could prevent Discovery from running correctly.
• ENG-694: Addressed an issue that prevented Guardian v25.2.0 or newer and Vantage from acquiring the Installed Software list.
• ENG-751: Addressed an issue that caused Arc to send its internet protocol (IP) address prefixed by an extra 0-byte.
• ENG-935: Alerts are now correctly enriched with MITRE attack data.
• ENG-1292: Addressed an issue with the Arc icon visualization on macOS Tahoe.
