Resolved issues

A list of all the issues that have been resolved in this release.

  • Arc-459: Fixed an issue that incorrectly requested a reboot on Windows Server 2019 machines. On Windows machines without universal serial bus (USB) ports, USBPcap is no longer shown as required.
  • Arc-512: Added security measures to the loading of WinPcap dynamic link library (DLL).
  • Arc-525: Fixed an issue that caused the Arc configuration (arc.json) to break during updates.
  • Arc-526: Fixed two issues related to packet buffering.
  • Arc-574: Fixed an issue that caused an error when executing Arc in One-shot or Offline mode from a file allocation table (FAT) drive.

New features

A list of new features that have been introduced in this release.

  • Arc-451: Dependencies management: the automatic Script block logging enabler now works also with Powershell Core.
  • Arc-464: Arc no longer requires Powershell, which makes it easier to use full functionality. Introduced support for the Windows Control Panel standard controls Change and Repair that are shown when you right-click on an installed application.
  • Arc-491: Fixed an issue causing multiple notifications for the same USB connected device.
  • Arc-504: Fixed an issue that prevented the reload of the Sysmon configuration if the Sysmon installer was not present.
  • Arc-508: Fixed a Npcap installation issue related to Npcap previously installed through Wireshark.
  • Arc-509: Improved the buffering logics for situations when the upstream link is found to be unavailable.
  • Arc-562: Arc now filters address resolution protocol (ARP) table entries to avoid invalid media access control (MAC) address assignments.
  • Arc-568: Enabled auto login when starting the Arc local user interface (UI).
