Arc v2.8.0
The release notes for Arc v2.8.0.
New features
A list of new features that have been introduced in this release.
- ENG-333: Improved responsive behavior by preserving font sizes at the first breakpoint and adapting layouts instead of reducing typography on narrower screens.
- ENG-591: Smart Polling and Discovery: New strategy Tattile ALPR introduced. Use these strategies to discover Tattile devices that expose the NTCP protocol.
- ENG-1114: Smart Polling: Addressed an issue that caused the polling of universal plug and play (UPnP) and ONVIF nodes to be marked as unsupported instead of inconclusive when the corresponding uniform resource locator (URL) is not found.
- ENG-1188: Compatibility notice: Arc v2.6.0 introduced a compatibility safeguard for environments still connected to Guardian v25.1.0 and earlier. Similarly, if Arc v2.7.0 is connected to Guardian v25.1.0 and earlier, Arc will continue to run, but it will no longer update to newer Arc versions. This change is intended to give customers time to upgrade Guardian before the end of the compatibility grace period. Starting with Arc v2.9.0, Arc will no longer connect to Guardian v25.1.0 and earlier. Action required: Upgrade Guardian to v25.2.0 or later before moving to Arc v2.9.0 (expected July 2026).
- ENG-1471: The Arc installer can now update existing dependencies.
- ENG-1734: Discovery: The sensor that performs Discovery is no longer marked as discovered, which addresses some inconsistencies with Arc detection.
- ENG-1786: Arc now starts internal tasks in a sequential order to avoid long central processing unit (CPU) spikes at the start.
- ENG-1873: Smart Polling: The secure shell (SSH), simple network management protocol (SNMP), and hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP)/hypertext transfer protocol secure (HTTPS) strategies now respect the imposed timeout and end execution when requested by the system.
- ENG-1931: Smart Polling: The SSH strategy now extracts the operating system (OS) architecture of the target device.
