Protocols, Smart Polling, and Arc

A list of the improvements for Protocols, Smart Polling and Arc that have been introduced in this release.

  • The BACnet passive analysis has been extended to extract additional information like instance number, vendor and network address
  • Greatly improved the merging logics for All-in-One Central Management Console (CMC)s receiving the same nodes from multiple sensors. It now takes into consideration the granularity, source and relevance of each field participating in the merge
  • Introduced an alert for Online Edit operations for Rockwell devices
  • Arc for Windows is now distributed in two versions: Windows 7+ and Windows 10+. The reason is that Arc compilation toolchain for Windows has been updated, and is no longer supported on Windows versions below Windows 10. We will continue to provide Arc additional binaries for legacy versions of Windows, compiled with the previous toolchain
  • The Niagara Fox protocol is now supported, with function codes and variables extraction. The Tridium Niagara devices are also identified, through the niagara-fox and hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) protocols
  • Smart Polling can now extract information from Tridium devices through secure shell (SSH)
  • Field for multi-nodes assets are now extracted with consideration of the quality of each field
  • Improved the assignment of the label to assets from passive traffic for Rockwell controllers
  • Improved the robustness of the grouping of nodes inside assets when different node labels are involved
  • Improved the robustness of the MDNS protocol as asset information is attached to the right entity
  • Reduced memory consumption with respect to the sync of large Virtual Images
  • Improved subnet reassignment upon node renaming
  • Reduced the possibility of spurious wakeups for the garbage collector thread
  • Reduced the memory used to store key names for variables
  • Improved the confirmation of nodes for unknown protocols
  • Smart Polling now updates the last_activity_time of nodes that are successfully polled
