Base OS

A list of the improvements for the operating system and GUI usability changes that have been introduced in this release.

  • Added protocol information to the n2os-ids-log entries shown when encoding errors were found.
  • Updated FreeBSD.
  • Updated AngularJS.
  • Server-side secure shell (SSH) agent forwarding is now disabled in every user profile, enhancing security by preventing the use of the n2os host as a jump host via agent forwarding.
  • Users can now use Vantage to manage Security Profiles for on-premise sensors.
  • Added a caption to the Backup and Restore page to clarify that backups do not contain vulnerabilities and schedules related data, and that restored machines will preserve the previous data tables with the previous vulnerabilities and scheduling of reports and backups.
  • A security measure has been added to limit SSH access to sensors. Now, admin SSH access via password to sensors can be disabled in the SSH profile.
  • Expanded sensor health log to include information about filesystem and disk failures.
  • With Nozomi Networks Operating System (N2OS) 22.4.0, we upgraded the algorithms used for decrypting software licenses, because the ones used before were identified as unsafe. Towards the end of 2024, Nozomi Networks will distribute only licenses encrypted with the new set of algorithms. This means that starting from the end of 2024, all new N2OS software licenses and renewal software licenses will only work with sensors running at least N2OS 23.0.0. Users must upgrade their sensors to N2OS version 23.0.0 or higher to ensure compatibility with new licenses and avoid license renewal issues.
