N2OS 26.5.0: alert deduplication enabled by default
Nozomi Networks Operating System (N2OS) v26.5.0 will enable alert deduplication by default for all deployments. This new default applies to both new installations and existing installations that have not explicitly configured alert deduplication. This change reflects the feature's proven stability and its impact on reducing alert noise and improving operator focus. New and existing installations of N2OS v26.5.0, or later, will have alert deduplication turned on by default. The feature will remain fully configurable and can be toggled from N2OS or Vantage, depending on the deployment. Existing deployments upgrading to N2OS v26.5.0 will keep their explicit alert deduplication configuration. If you explicitly enabled or disabled deduplication, N2OS preserves that choice across the upgrade. If you left the configuration at its default state, your deployment adopts the version default. This is disabled by default in N2OS v26.3.0 and v26.4.0, and enabled by default from N2OS v26.5.0.
Maintain current behavior through the transition
The default behavior changes with N2OS v26.5.0 for new deployments. To retain your current deduplication behavior across future upgrades, explicitly set your preferred state before upgrading to N2OS v26.5.0. N2OS will honor explicit configuration (either enabled or disabled) across upgrades. If you leave alert deduplication in its default state, it will track the evolving version defaults as you upgrade.
Ensure consistent behavior
You can explicitly configure alert deduplication from N2OS or Vantage, starting with N2OS v26.3.0 and N2OS v26.4.0. This explicit configuration is not available from the Central Management Console (CMC). This phased approach gives new environments a streamlined alert experience by default, while giving existing customers full control over when they adopt the new default.
Compatibility notice for Arc users
- Arc v2.6.0 through v2.8.0 will continue to work, but it will no longer update
- Arc v2.9.0 and later will no longer work with Guardian with N2OS ≤ v25.1.0
