Threat Intelligence content compatibility with unsupported N2OS versions

Threat Intelligence (TI) subscriptions are continuously enhanced to deliver new detection capabilities and support evolving customer needs. Customers running versions of Nozomi Networks Operating System (N2OS) that have reached end of support continue to receive TI updates. However, some new rules, detections, or capabilities might depend on functionality that is available only in newer N2OS versions.

While Nozomi Networks makes every reasonable effort to maintain backward compatibility, this cannot be guaranteed for versions that are outside their supported lifecycle, and certain new TI capabilities might be unavailable or might not function as intended on unsupported versions. Beginning after the release of N2OS v26.6.0, TI package release notes identify changes that might have compatibility considerations for unsupported N2OS versions.

To receive the full set of current TI capabilities and maintain product support, Nozomi Networks recommends running a supported version of N2OS. For information about supported product versions, see the Nozomi Networks Product Lifecycle and Support Policy.

Rockwell nested device extraction moving to Smart Polling

As N2OS extends support for Rockwell devices, the current passive approach to identifying nested devices can be inaccurate in the presence of certain network communication patterns. Smart Polling is replacing this detection method, providing fully accurate extraction.

In a future version, N2OS will only extract nested devices via Smart Polling.

N2OS v26.6.0: New and easier-to-use interface

In N2OS v26.6.0, the current Smart Polling page will be removed, and the new page introduced in N2OS v26.5.0 will become the default.

N2OS v26.6.0 will also continue the introduction of a new, easier-to-use interface. Updates will arrive in small batches with each new release. The current user interface (UI) will be the default as each batch rolls out. We encourage you to switch to the new UI to familiarize yourself with each new batch, because the current UI section it replaces will only be available for a limited time. The timeline for the new UI to become the default has not been finalized yet, but we currently expect it to be within one to three release cycles of the release of each batch. Most changes improve usability and navigation and bring N2OS in line with Vantage. If anything in the new UI causes issues for your workflow or configuration, contact our Customer Support team as soon as you notice it.
