Protocols, Smart Polling, and Arc
A list of the improvements for Protocols, Smart Polling and Arc that have been introduced in this release.
- N2OS-12264: Extended support for the SEL Fast protocol to cover scenarios where it is encapsulated directly over transmission control protocol (TCP).
- ENG-487: We consolidated the documentation about collected items from the Smart Polling strategies. This information is now present in Vantage more clearly and unambiguously, and in the technical documentation.
- ENG-628: Fixed an issue that could cause asset graph rendering to freeze when displaying assets with a large number of links to other assets.
- ENG-960, ENG-972: The Node points mechanism has been significantly enhanced to reduce resource consumption and provide greater customization. Most Node points are no longer stored as time series; instead, only the latest sample is retained. Users can also select which Node points should be extracted and transmitted upstream across the platform.
- ENG-1789: Introduced support for Rsync protocol, and detections for HD marine equipment's DB Transfer and DB Run operations.
- ENG-2093: ADS/AMS traffic segmented across TCP packets is now correctly parsed from the reassembled stream, preventing false malformed traffic alerts for valid multi-packet requests.
- ENG-2103: Smart Polling: the new SEL Axion strategy can be used to poll SEL Axion devices that expose the representational state transfer (REST) application programming interface (API) over hypertext transfer protocol secure (HTTPS).
- ENG-2317: Smart Polling: support for MELCO iQ-R has been improved, with support for polling via user datagram protocol (UDP) and TCP, as well as the ability to perform polling through the communication module. The overall enrichment rate is expected to be improved.
- ENG-2389: It is now possible to extend Niagara Fox protocol detection to
additional ports using the following configuration rule, which is documented in
the Technical Documentation Portal:
conf.user configure probe protocol niagara-fox encrypted_ports list_of_transport_and_port. - ENG-2438: Users can now enable or disable a universal serial bus (USB) device connected to a host running Arc by interacting with the corresponding alert.
- ENG-2474: Nozomi Networks Operating System (N2OS) now supports the import of Ovation DDB variables mapping files, enabling for process variables semantics.
- ENG-2556: Smart Polling: new strategy Bosch Camera introduced.
- ENG-2609: It is possible to manage Arc dependencies from Vantage also for Arc sensors that are connected through a Guardian.
- ENG-2638: Fixed the Go to component when nodes are identified by universally unique identifier (UUID).
- ENG-2901: Smart Polling: the default timeout for the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) strategy has been increased to 180 seconds.
- ENG-2919: Dependency management is now available from Vantage and from this
version of N2OS. Users can install, uninstall, or
update individual dependencies, either for a single Arc sensor or globally.
For Sysmon, where only the latest version can be distributed, users can also upload older versions from Vantage to run on Windows 7 hosts.
- ENG-2992: Westermo WeOS devices are now better identified through the link layer discovery protocol (LLDP) protocol.
- ENG-3006: Smart Polling: the simple network management protocol (SNMP) strategy with version 3 can now better distinguish between a failed connection and wrong credentials.
- ENG-3062: Fixed commit log-related deadlock.
- ENG-3095: Smart Polling: the scheduler now ignores the disallowed sensors when assigning targets to sensors.
- ENG-3181: Smart Polling: we addressed a limitation that prevented unicast Internet Protocol version 6 addresses contained in selected identities from being polled.
