Troubleshoot Asset Intelligence
Solutions for common Asset Intelligence issues, including enrichment failures, connectivity problems, and unexpected results.
Connectivity issues
Asset Intelligence (AI) requires outbound connectivity to the Nozomi Networks enrichment service. If enrichments are failing due to connectivity:
- Verify that outbound connections are permitted by your firewall rules
- If a proxy is configured, verify that the proxy settings are correct
- Check for network timeout errors in the platform logs
For air-gapped environments, use manual content updates instead of automatic updates. For more details, see Configure manual updates.
Low confidence scores
If enrichments have low confidence scores:
- Verify that sensors have visibility to sufficient network traffic for the assets. AI uses all available asset fields to find the best match.
- Consider switching to the aggressive enrichment mode if broader coverage is acceptable. For more details, see Enrichment modes.
- Use the enrichment feedback mechanism to report incorrect enrichments and improve future results
Incorrect enrichments
If an asset receives an incorrect enrichment:
- Submit negative feedback on the enrichment. This helps the enrichment service improve its accuracy for similar assets.
- If you are using aggressive enrichment mode, consider switching to safe enrichment mode to reduce false positives
- Verify that the asset's base data (vendor, product name) is correct in the asset inventory
Enrichments not propagating to sensors
If enrichments are visible on the platform but not propagating to sensors:
- Verify that the sensor supports enrichment propagation
- Check that the sensor is reachable from the platform
- Review the sensor logs for any enrichment command errors
