Upload a benchmark

Upload your own SCAP benchmark file so you can use it in a compliance policy.

About this task

An uploaded benchmark file must be an eXtensible Markup Language (XML) file, in Extensible Configuration Checklist Description Format (XCCDF) format.

Procedure

  1. In the top navigation bar, select > Compliance.
    The Compliance page opens.
  2. Select the Benchmark management tab.
  3. Select Upload.
    The Upload benchmark dialog opens.
  4. Select or drag in the benchmark file to upload, up to 100 megabyte (MB).
Upload benchmark dialog with a file drop area and maximum file size
The file is validated. It is rejected unless it is a well-formed Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP)/XCCDF XML file within the size limit. If the file is valid, a preview shows the parsed Benchmark name, Version, Rules count, and Published at date, along with editable Platform and Category fields detected from the file. Change either field if it was not detected correctly.
Upload benchmark dialog showing the detected benchmark details with the editable platform and category fields
  5. Select Confirm.

Results

The benchmark is added and becomes available for use in a policy. If the uploaded file has the same content as an existing benchmark, the existing entry is refreshed instead: its Uploaded at and Uploaded by details are updated, and no additional entry is created.
