Rule overrides

A rule override lets you record a justification for a specific rule result without changing the underlying scan data.

If you disagree with a rule's result, you can override it to a different result. Any scanner result can be overridden except Not selected and Informational, which cannot be overridden. For example, use this if a check does not apply to your environment. Creating an override requires selecting a reason and providing a free-text justification. An override always applies to the current scan only.

An override supersedes a rule result rather than replacing it. If you later remove an override, the rule result keeps a record that it was previously overridden, and you can view that history.
