Update an Arc dependency on multiple sensors

If a newer version is available for an installed software dependency, you can update it on multiple sensors at the same time.

About this task

The Update action is only available for a software dependency that doesn't have a Source of OS native. For a Customer uploaded dependency, it's only available once a bundle has been uploaded.

Procedure

  1. In the top navigation bar, select Administration icon - which looks like a gear cog
    The administration page opens.
  2. In the Organization settings section, select Arc dependencies.
    The Arc dependencies page opens.
  3. For the applicable dependency, open the actions menu and select Update.
A dialog shows, listing the sensors that are eligible for the action.
  4. Select the sensors that you want to update the dependency on.

    Note:
You can use the column filters to narrow the list, or select the header checkbox to select all the sensors that are currently shown. Sensors that require a reboot before the action can be applied aren't selectable.
  5. Select Confirm.
The dialog shows a confirmation message and the Allow reboot if required checkbox.
  6. Optional: Select the Allow reboot if required checkbox.
    Note:
If this operation requires a reboot, the sensor is restarted automatically to complete it.
  7. Select Confirm.
The operation starts. You can monitor its progress on the Async operations page. A results dialog shows how many sensors succeeded and how many failed.

Results

The dependency is updated to the available version on the selected sensors.
