IQ assistant widget

The IQ assistant widget gives you access to the Vantage IQ assistant from any page, without leaving your current view.

The IQ assistant widget appears as the Vantage IQ assistant icon icon in the top navigation bar. It is available on every page except the IQ page when you have a Vantage IQ license or are on a trial. The widget opens a panel where you can query the assistant and review results without navigating away from your current page.

Note:
The IQ assistant widget requires a Vantage IQ license or an active trial. If your organization does not have a license, the widget does not appear.

Sidebar

The widget panel has a collapsible sidebar on the left. Select the collapse arrow at the top of the sidebar to hide it and maximize the chat area. Select the expand arrow to show it again.

The sidebar contains these controls:

  • New chat icon New chat: Starts a new conversation with the assistant.
  • Search chats icon Search chats: Opens a list of your previous chats so you can return to an earlier conversation.

To close the widget, select the Vantage IQ assistant icon icon again. The next time you open it, it returns to the same display mode and position.

Display modes

You can display the widget in three modes:

  • Docked right icon Docked right: The panel attaches to the right side of the screen.
  • Docked left icon Docked left: The panel attaches to the left side of the screen.
  • Detached icon Detached: The panel floats freely. You can move and resize it.

The widget remembers your last display mode and position when you close it and reopen it.

Page awareness

The widget is page-aware. When you open it, the assistant analyzes the data on your current page and suggests relevant questions. When you navigate to a different page, the assistant reanalyzes the data for that page and updates the suggested questions.

For example, if you open the widget on the Assets page, the assistant suggests questions about your assets. If you then navigate to the Alerts page, it suggests questions about your alerts. This lets you query data in context without copying identifiers or switching between tabs.

Behavior on the IQ page

The widget is not available on the IQ page because the full assistant is already present there. When you navigate to the IQ page, the widget automatically hides. When you navigate away from the IQ page, the widget reappears in its previous state.
