Protocols, Smart Polling, and Arc
A list of the improvements for Protocols, Smart Polling and Arc that have been introduced in this release.
- Reduced node and asset duplication through a more robust synchronization under heavy, dynamic, and concurrent network traffic.
- The Guardian user interface (UI) is now more descriptive around Arc licenses in multi-tier installations. When an upstream pushes licenses, the Arc menu now shows as soon as the license arrives. Should the upstream disconnect afterwards, the Arc menu remains visible for a six hours grace period before it disappears.
- Added support for tagging and asset identification through Sick AutoIPScan NetScan traffic.
- Addressed an issue that prevented user changes to a host name to show on
the corresponding node's
appliance_hostfield. - Addressed an issue that resulted in the source of a node
Labelfield switching to manual when the node settings were saved. Now, unless labels are modified manually, they retain their original source. - Added support for tagging and asset information extraction from Omron Weblink traffic.
- Added support for tagging and asset identification through Ubiquiti discovery traffic.
- Extended the setting to change the format of information object addresses (IOA)s for process variables for iec101 and iec104. Users can now see IOAs as a single integer format.
- Addressed an issue that prevented installed software information from correctly populating the Software section of the Assets details page.
- GOOSE publisher nodes are now labelled with available GOOSE specific information.
- SEL products are now better identified through IEC 61850 (MMS).
- Discovery: The asset fields that the server message block (SMB) Discovery strategy populates are now tagged with the Discovery data source.
- Smart Polling
- Vulnerabilities on assets that simple network management protocol (SNMP) polls are now also calculated on manually mapped fields
- The system further optimizes the network footprint and dynamically removes polls based on analyzed information
- Introduced a more effective mechanism to choose SNMP community strings, which considers previous poll results, user input values, and values found through traffic monitoring
- Improved SNMP support for Fortinet devices
- Addressed an issue in SNMP custom object identifier (OID) mappings that prevented specific asset vendor mappings
- In multi-nodes assets, the nodes that have received the information from Arc are now given priority.
