Updates and licenses
The Updates and licenses page lets you configure and manage the base software license and the licenses for optional sensors and enhancements, such as Arc, Smart Polling, Threat Intelligence, Asset Intelligence, the Nozomi TI Expansion Pack Powered by Mandiant, and Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS).
Base license
This section contains the base license, which is mandatory and includes passive monitoring.
Sensors
This section contains optional licenses for sensor-related products.
- Arc Endpoint
- Lets you enable an optional license for Arc Endpoint.
- Arc Full (Endpoint + Sensor)
- Lets you enable an optional license for Arc Full (Endpoint + Sensor).
- Arc Embedded Melco Controller
- Lets you enable an optional license for Arc Embedded Melco Controller.
- Arc Embedded SE RTU
- Lets you enable an optional license for Arc Embedded Schneider Electric remote terminal unit (RTU).
Enhancements
This section contains optional licenses for enhancement features.
- Smart Polling
- Lets you enable an optional license for Smart Polling.
- Threat Intelligence
- Lets you enable an optional license for Threat Intelligence.
- Asset Intelligence
- Lets you enable an optional license for Asset Intelligence.
- Nozomi TI Expansion Pack, Powered by Mandiant
- Lets you enable an optional license for the Nozomi TI Expansion Pack, Powered by Mandiant.
- FIPS
- Information-only panel that shows details about an optional Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) license. To install FIPS, you need to enable FIPS mode in a console.
License status
Each section that has an active license will show the License status.

| UNLICENSED | Functionality is disabled. |
| ACTIVE |
Functionality is enabled. Be aware of the expiration date to allow time for renewals. If a license is issued with node limits, and the limits are exceeded, functionality is only enabled for the covered nodes within the limits. New nodes are not analyzed. |
| EXPIRING |
30 days before the expiration date, notifications will show in the user interface (UI) to remind users of the impending expiration of their current license and to take actions towards renewing their license. |
| EXPIRED |
Starting from the expiration date, notifications will show in the UI to notify users of the expiration of their current license and to take actions towards renewing their license. Nozomi Networks offers a grace period after the official expiration date. In this grace period, the license still functions as it would in the ACTIVE status. The grace period provides time for an emergency renewal of the license. After the grace period is over, functionality is disabled. The contents that were analyzed or imported before the expiration date remain, however no new analyses are performed, and no new signatures are imported. |
| MANAGED_BY_UPSTREAM |
The license is managed by an upstream sensor, such as Central Management Console (CMC) or Vantage. This status is only visible when the sensor is connected and synced to an upstream sensor. |
| NOT_REQUIRED |
A license is not required for this feature on this device. For example, FIPS on a CMC does not require a separate license. |
