Configure CMC for single sign-on (SSO)

How to configure Central Management Console (CMC) to use it as an identity provider for sensors that are connected to it.

About this task

Make sure that you have configured the Central Management Console (CMC) as an identity provider (IdP).

Procedure

  1. In the CMC, add the following configuration rule to the /data/cfg/n2os.conf.user file. Replace <ADDRESS> with the address of the CMC.
    cmc identity_provider_url https://<ADDRESS>
  2. To effect the change, restart all services and reboot the machine to effect the change.
  3. Configure the sensors connected to the CMC. For more details, see Configure SAML integration.
  4. On the SAML page, select Propagate the security assertion markup language (SAML) metadata to push the IdP metadata to the connected sensors.
    Note:
Use this option whenever the metadata changes, for example after renewing the secure sockets layer (SSL) certificate on the CMC, instead of manually downloading and re-uploading the metadata file on each sensor.
    Note:
Metadata is only propagated to sensors directly connected to the CMC. Sensors connected through a mid-level CMC do not receive the update.
